Finding the Right Health Care Provider
If you have osteoporosis, you probably know how important it is to find a doctor with knowledge and experience about the disease. Doctors in several specialties treat osteoporosis, as well as physical therapists. Check with your primary care doctor for the specialist who is right for you. It could be an Endocrinologist, Rheumatologist, Gynecologist or Orthopedist.

- American Dietetic Association has a directory of dietitians specializing in a variety of areas that could affect bone health.
- American Physical Therapy Association has a directory of therapists specializing in osteoporosis care.
- International Society of Clinical Densitometry has a membership list with certified clinicians who specialize in bone densitometry.
- National Osteoporosis Foundation has a list of preferred providers in their network.
- The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) has a list of credentialed menopause practioners who provide health care for women in menopause and beyond.
