July is National Ice Cream Month!

In 1984, Reagan called for this designation because of ice cream's booming popularity and profit in the US. The president deemed ice cream a "nutritious and wholesome food"; while many people may think of ice cream as a guilty craving, Reagan wasn't completely wrong.

A cup of ice cream packs just under 200 milligrams of calcium making it a bone-healthy treat as well.

However, you can have too much of a good thing, so if you want to pick the very best day to indulge, July 17th is National Ice Cream Day. So go buy some ice cream cones that are good for your bones!
