New effervescent treatment option for osteoporosis patients

A new method for taking an osteoporosis medication is now available. The bisphosphonate called Binosto, is formulated to be dissolved in water and can be effective for patients that have difficulty swallowing a tablet. The weekly dosage is comparable to weekly alendronate. 

It is still important that patients take Binosto before any food, drinks or other medicine and remain upright for at least 30 minutes while the medicine gets into the stomach.
